I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
